Road Closure Notices

Notices with maps are posted when appropriate in the Parish notice boards for any closures affecting Burston, Shimpling, Mill Green and Audley End.

 

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C205 Station Road from 10m either side of the level crossing in the PARISH OF BURSTON AND SHIMPLING because of Network Rail works to replace defective rail. The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) between 23:00 on 28th to 07:30 on 29th May 2022 for the duration of the works expected to be about 8 ½ hours within the period.Alternative route is via: Station Road, Burston Road, Dickleburgh Road, Dickleburgh Bypass, Scole Bypass, Diss Road, Victoria Road, Park Road, Denmark Street, Shelfanger Road, Sunnyside, Heywood Road, Durbidges Hill, Crown Green (Diss, Burston and Shimpling, Heywood, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Scole).

(If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order).

The burst water main on Burston Road near the junction with Walcot Green is still showing on the  one.network roadworks website.  See map for position of works. It is supposed to be finished by the 16th May, however, it can be extended if required.

The Anglia Water website shows this as roadworks for Investigation and Maintenance with a status of on going with no indication of a completion date.

 

 

 

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to a NCC rotten timber bridge the use by the public of footpath Burston & Shimpling FP33 from its junction with C472 Durbidge’s Hill for 730m north-eastwards in the PARISH OF BURSTON AND SHIMPLING (hereinafter referred to as the said footpath) that the use of the said footpath should be prohibited with effect from 21st April to 11th May 2022 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 21 days within the period. If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 21 days.

Alternative route is via: Burston and Shimpling FP38.
