Road Closure Notices

The following Road Closures Notices have been received by the Parish Council

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C342 Gissing Road from its junction with C342 Burston Road, for a distance of 427 metres southwards in the PARISH OF BURSTON AND SHIMPLING because of new underground cabling to replace overhead cabling.


The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 29th May 2018 to 1st June 2018 for the duration of the works, expected to be 4 days within the period.


Alternative route is via: C342 Gissing Road, C205 Station Road, C205 Burston Road, C205 Dickleburgh Road, A140 Ipswich Road, B1134 Long Row, C342 Rectory Road and vice versa (Aslacton, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Tivetshall St. Mary, Gissing, Tivetshall St. Margaret, Burston and Shimpling, Pulham Market).

Mill Road - Sunday Closures
NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C205 Mill Road from its junction with C205 Crown Green for a distance of 170 metres northwards in the PARISH OF BURSTON & SHIMPLING because of installation of a new foul sewer in the highway.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) on 18th February 2018, 18th March 2018 and 13th May 2018 for the duration of the works, expected to be 3 days within the period.

Alternative route is via: C205 Crown Green, C342 Gissing Road, U76108 Bridge Road, C205 Mill Green/ Mill Road (Gissing/ Burston and Shimpling).


APRIL - MAY CLOSURES

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the U76107 Long Lane from its junction with C205 Hall Road for a distance of 65 metres northwards in the PARISH OF BURSTON AND SHIMPLING because of installation of a new foul sewer.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 20 th April 2018 to 5th May 2018 for the duration of the works, expected to be 11 days within the period.

Alternative route is via: U76107 Long Lane/ Chequers Lane/ Upper Street, C348 New Road/ Lower Street, C342 Burston Road/ Gissing Road, U76108 Bridge Road
(Gissing/ Burston and Shimpling).

If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order.

Penalty: 1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention. In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
